Technical Skills


This programme is to help unemployed youths, B40 group and drop out students to develop their skills training in midstream industry and generatemonthly income. Among the technical skills offered are:

A construction site safety supervisor is responsible for monitoring or overseeing construction sites and making sure that workers within the environment adhere to government regulations/standards regarding safety.


Scaffolding is a temporary platform that is used for providing support on height and provides materials during a construction process for constructing or repairing of a structure. Besides, it provides a certain level of support to a standing structure throughout the phase of construction.

Rigging is the process of lifting and moving objects. Slinging is the name for the materials used to connect the load to the crane or any other type of lifting device.

Working from heights means working where falling would mean falling from one level to another. Working at a height can pose a serious or life threatening risk of injury.


Rope access technicians descend, ascend, and traverse ropes for access and work while suspended by their harness. Sometimes a work seat may be used.

An ultrasonic thickness gauge works by precisely measuring how long it takes for a sound pulse that has been generated by a small probe called an ultrasonic transducer to travel through a test piece and reflect back from the inside surface or far wall.

A Mechanical Fitter fabricates, installs and repairs heavy machinery. Working to a set of precise specifications, they operate tools and machines to grind, mill and shape raw materials into the specified form, then assemble the final product.

Authorized entrants are employees who are authorized by the employer to enter a permit space. Authorized entrants must: (1) Know the hazards associated with confined space entry, and in particular, the hazards associated with the PRCS being entered.

Fire safety awareness is an educational process to remind everyone in the workplace of best practices to avoid creating a fire risk, and the measures to take in the event a fire happens in the workplace.
